Osteopathy for pregnant women

Pregnant women undergo significant physical transformations, sources of many functional disorders.
The back is probably one of the most stressed parts of the body during pregnancy. With the forward tilt of the pelvis, young mothers do not always know how to relieve the pains that appear, but also those they had before pregnancy.

Pregnant women may consult an osteopath for several reasons. First of all, pregnancy can lead to significant physiological changes in the female body, especially at the musculoskeletal level. These changes can cause pain and discomfort, such as back pain, pelvic pain, sciatica, leg and foot pain, and postural issues. An osteopath can help relieve these pains by working on the muscles, ligaments and joints.
Additionally, pregnancy can also cause hormonal imbalances that can affect connective tissues and muscles, which can lead to pain and tension. Osteopathy can help rebalance these imbalances and relieve the associated pain.
Finally, osteopathy can help prepare the woman's body for childbirth by working on the pelvis and promoting better mobility of the spine. This can help ease labor and reduce pain during childbirth.
It is important to note that osteopathy is a gentle, non-invasive approach that can be beneficial for pregnant women. However, this type of care is reserved for our more qualified and experienced 5th years. Generally speaking, osteopaths may also work in conjunction with other healthcare professionals, such as midwives and obstetricians, to provide comprehensive and safe pregnancy care.
